A new progeroid syndrome reveals that genotoxic stress suppresses the somatotroph axis

This is an interesting paper about a new XPF mutation. Unlike other XPF mutations which cause increased tumorigenesis, this mutation causes early ageing without cancer. They also use a mouse model to further investigate this phenotype. Some of the conclusions in this paper are a bit of a stretch, at this point, but the ideas are provocative.
